Your consultation

A brief guide on what to expect 
  • 1. Getting   to know you...

    Your health history, your work, your social life, how you eat, sleep, and relax and many other things are all important factors which we will consider at your consultation. I will send you a pre-consultation questionnaire and food diary to complete and return before the consultation so that I can start to get to know you before we meet

  • 2. Identifying your needs....

    During the consultation we will talk about your health goals and any symptoms or concerns you have. The consultation will last for an hour giving us time to discuss your concerns, what you want to achieve and for you to ask as many questions as you would like..

  • 3. Getting the right plan for you....

    This means making as many or as few changes to your present way of eating and your lifestyle as you feel happy with. This is your plan and we go at your pace. Supplements and testing can sometimes be beneficial and we will discuss if they may be right for you. Your budget is important too so supplements and tests will only be included after we have discussed all the options. My approach is always ‘food first’ anyway so we will focus on filling your plate with nutrient packed real foods which taste great before thinking about supplements.

  • 4. Follow up & aftercare...

    I will usually ask you to send me an email after 2 weeks to let me know how you are getting on. A follow-up consultation after 4-6 weeks is a good time to have a full review.

As well as one to one consultations I also offer group talks about nutrition and these events can be tailored to suit the interests and requirements of each audience. Where facilities allow, the sessions can include demonstrations of quickly prepared dishes using some of the foods included in the talk. About Debbie Cooper

I love food and always have. My father and grandfather were fishmongers, my great grandfather was a greengrocer, my brother owns a pub restaurant, my nephew is a chef and I used to own a specialist sandwich shop so I think you could call us a food loving family! Discovering nutritional therapy and the possibility of combining my love of food with my increasing interest in health and wellness was truly a revelation. When the opportunity came to change career it was an easy decision to choose nutritional therapy.

I studied initially at the Centre for Nutrition Education and Lifestyle Management and completed my degree at the University of Westminster. I am a member of The British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT)  the professional body for Registered Nutritional Therapists and registered with the Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). Since graduating I have continued my studies with the Institute for Functional Medicine and I am currently working towards their prestigious Certification qualification
